How to Create a Culture of Entrepreneurship : By Bhavna Gupta

For anything to flourish there has to be a suitable environment that is created, having a culture of entrepreneurship is equally important, we need to cultivate that culture by creating an environment in our enterprise.

It all begins with the mindset , the entrepreneurs  like challenges and makes things happen, they build something from level zero, rather the word is co-create , I like this word and use it often because the word itself is meaningful and  divinely creative. So imagine under an entrepreneurship climate when you have the energy of multiple entrepreneurs the collective energy, can create a faster growth for your company.

So the entrepreneurs  develop products and services using innovation,  customers , buyers , end users are the  most important persons to them and the entire process of manufacturing , sales and services is done by the job holders or the employees. The employees then must share a similar mindset by inculcating the same vision & mission of the company. They share same goals; you are then promoting the climate of entrepreneurship. It may be a task and process to induct in your employees the same vision, mission and goals but the alignment can be done with the minimum efforts with process & communication in place. Once harnessed it’s a great place for team work and to make money. These are some of the things to keep in mind to grow the culture of entrepreneurs, encourage everyone to talk freely and voice their concerns, provide constructive criticism, and do brainstorming with the group for new ideas and concept. Remember an idea a or a concept has the power of a seed that can grow big.

To promote the culture what is important is to maintain  transparency  & empower your employees, let them also feel and know that employers are just as humans as they are but taking the challenge with  a dream to make it big and happening , they are not perfect and  know it all but are willing to learn from their mistakes.

There isn’t a product or a procedure that cannot be improved. Every procedure and systems can be improved and updated, so encourage your employees to suggest changes, encourage new technologies and create a positive impact on your company. Employees must be empowered, keeping certain protocols of time and feedback systems. Too much freedom does not always help reach the goal but an inclusive platform of freedom and responsibility works, creates a balanced climate.

Position company s goal by thinking of company’s growth and let the ideas filter in to all the employees. If employees do not think as owners things will not work and the entrepreneurship culture will not flourish. But it is unlikely that they will do if they do not have equity sharing or ownership stake they will rarely do, so a stake in profit sharing pool to motivate your employees.

It is important to have a commercially viable company, so every department must be a profit center, every person must think and act like a salesperson right from receptionist to the marketing department & the owners themselves although there should be no micro management, everyone must have their goals and freedom and tasks alike and see the results coming up. Set up guidelines and frame work for so on a macro level the people must know the guidelines and clause and terms for performance and decision making .and on a micro level they are independent.

Implement these and check out the high graph of the performance, which will flourish under the Entrepreneurship culture.
